Amy Cunha

President + founder

Amy Cunha is an expert PR strategist for consumer lifestyle brands. Amy brings twenty years experience in public relations and branding to her PR clientele. She launched BigPicture PR in 2004.

Specializing in global and national public relations campaigns, Amy’s expertise comes from launching and building hundreds of brands in the consumer lifestyle sector: fashion, accessories, design, footwear, health, wellness and beauty, and consumer tech. Amy is committed to delivering recognition and results in every facet of a campaign. She revels in the creativity of crafting inspired media campaigns and branding concepts that attract and engage the media, influencers and consumers, in turn maximizing publicity, building influence and exposure for her clients.

Client experience includes creating and executing public relations campaigns for emerging brands Brilliant Earth and Baggu, to established brands, such as London’s high-street brands of the Arcadia Group (Wallis, Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins) and Ted Baker to one of the world’s leading design strategy firms, Lunar Design.

Amy has launched integrated advertising and brand-marketing campaigns for Burson-Marsteller and Porter Novelli and luxury lifestyle campaigns while a director at a boutique PR agency. She has a unique background of developing high-level strategy and messaging while producing multi-million dollar, award winning media campaigns for democratic presidential candidates and numerous U.S. Senatorial races while at a prominent media strategy firm.

She has worked extensively with the media securing features, profiles and product placements with established contacts at top-tier publications such as Fast Company, The New York Times, Refinery 29, O, The Oprah Magazine, Allure, The Dr. Oz Show, Lucky, InStyle, Real Simple, GOOP, Vogue, Elle, WWD, Wall Street Journal, W, Travel + Leisure, Shape, Harper’s Bazaar, Nylon, Marie Claire, Self, Cosmopolitan, CNN, Good Morning America, The Today Show, The Rachael Ray Show, CBS Evening News, and NPR amongst many others.

Amy has a BA from UC Berkeley where she studied Comparative Politics.

Paula Alvarez


Paula has over a decade of managing client reputations and creating top-of-mind awareness for a broad range of national and international business-to-business companies in the fields of consumer lifestyle, technology, professional services and financial services. A skilled public relations practitioner with an in-depth knowledge of the media, Paula has a proven track record for garnering attention for her clients in the international, national, local, and vertical media outlets. She is a passionate entrepreneur and problem-solver and is continuously seeking out new ideas and new approaches to enhance and provide highly creative and responsive (engaged) client service.

Prior to her work with Big Picture PR, Paula worked as a PR consultant with technology and professional service firms focusing on strategic planning and strategic business development. Her work included thought-leadership and brand awareness programmes as well as launching activities, events and customer relations.

Alana Cowen

Senior Media Relations Specialist

Based in New York City, Alana is a dynamic, results-oriented media relations professional. With more than seven years of experience in the public relations industry, Alana has had proven success in developing and implementing effective press strategies for globally-recognized clients for consumer health, lifestyle, fashion, parenting, beauty and non-profit brands.

Skilled in planning and executing long-term media goals for national consumer campaigns, Alana has provided strategic media counsel for numerous client initiatives, inclusive of national press announcements, special events, product launches and celebrity media activations.

Prior to joining Big Picture PR, Alana was a senior media specialist at Edelman Public Relations in New York City where she implemented effective media tactics for clients in the health and wellness space focused on national consumer media. During her time at Edelman she also spear-headed media relations efforts for the launch of the American Lung Association’s award-winning, national consumer initiative, LUNG FORCE.

Alana graduated from Fordham University’s school of Journalism at Lincoln Center with a major in public relations.

Koren Nelson

Creative / Design Director

As a creative director and multi-disciplinary designer, Koren’s career spans 20 years working simultaneously in every aspect of branding, interior, and product design. Committed to making GOOD brands GREAT, she launches products and brands for startups, non-profit organizations, Fortune 500 industry leaders, and venture capitalists that stand for more than the bottom line, guided by innovation and social responsibility.

She has worked both independently and with award-winning agencies, Known, Upshot, and EURO RSCG, as well as consulting in the U.S., Europe, Africa. Her vast experiences touch every market segment including beauty, fashion, finance, food & beverage, hospitality, wellness, technology, and non-profit organizations.

Born an innate creator with a social entrepreneurial spirit, Koren believes that we are all made for more—each of us destined to use our passion and talents to uplift businesses, one another, the planet, and the world.

Phil Colmant

Head of International Growth

Based in Milan and San Francisco, Phil is a seasoned global leader with over two decades of experience in building and managing companies within the e-commerce and luxury goods sectors. As the founder of Italeau.com and Junbesi Group, Philippe has demonstrated exceptional skills to launch and scale brands, driving significant revenue growth while establishing key partnerships with prestigious retailers like Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus. His expertise encompasses brand building, international operations, digital marketing, e-commerce retail, supply chain logistics, product development, and manufacturing.

Phil’s career is marked by his ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple continents, effectively managing talent acquisition and virtual teams to ensure seamless collaboration and productivity. His strategic vision and technical acumen, underpinned by a background in software engineering, have enabled him to optimize business performance and foster innovation consistently.

At Italeau.com, Phil launched an online store that rapidly grew to generate millions in annual revenue within just two years. His leadership extended to all aspects of digital marketing, including managing performance agencies and digital assets, and driving customer acquisition and retention through a comprehensive multi-channel strategy. In addition, Phil oversaw the end-to-end supply chain, from product design and manufacturing in Italy to logistics and customer support operations in the US.

Prior to founding Italeau.com, Phil founded Junbesi Group, a multi-brand luxury goods distribution company with a focus on designer footwear and leather goods. Under his leadership, Junbesi Group grew from a startup to a company generating millions in annual revenue. Phil successfully opened wholesale distribution channels in high-end department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdales, along with 50+ independent luxury retailers across the US. He also launched several brands’ direct-to-consumer e-commerce businesses, including digital marketing, distribution supply chain, and warehouses, and provided merchandising direction to design teams in Italy and Spain.

Before venturing into the luxury goods and e-commerce sectors, Phil served as a Senior Consultant for Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) in Foster City, California. During his tenure at Microsoft, Phil played a pivotal role in planning, implementing, and supporting solutions aimed at accelerating value for customer IT investments. He identified and sold strategic consulting opportunities to Fortune 500 companies, including PG&E, Stanford, Intel, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo Bank. Phil was recognized for his exceptional contributions, winning the Microsoft MCS Top Contributor Award.

Phil’s multilingual proficiency in English, French, and Italian has been instrumental in his success in international business, facilitating effective communication and negotiation across diverse markets. Phil holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Faculté Polytechnique of Mons, Belgium.
